Update from 01/2024 The ACI Sports Committee, in order to comply with FIA regulations, has decided that all cars participating in a Rally must be equipped with two hand-held fire extinguishers, conforming to the prescriptions of Annex J (Article 253.7.3.1). The second of these extinguishers, which must be of the type compliant with Article 7.3, shall be installed in accordance with the procedures in Article 253.7.6, and may be placed in the passenger compartment or the luggage compartment. It may be either of type ABC or a model using an extinguishing agent that does not create a conductive atmosphere, conforming in any case to the following list: Novec 1230 – FXG-TEC FE36. In the event of a fire, drivers must provide one of the manual extinguishers to help put out the fire. This extinguisher must then be replaced as soon as possible, at the next service park or closed park.

FIA fire extinguishers are valid for 2 years from the month/year of manufacture or overhaul.
